After Your Nanoblading Consultation: Next Steps and What to Avoid

Nanoblading Consultation (30 minutes, $15) is where I make sure your brows plan makes sense for your skin, your lifestyle, and the look you actually want.

After Your Nanoblading Consultation: Next Steps and What to Avoid image

The most important rule after your nanoblading consultation is this: protect the skin on and around your eyebrows so I’m working on calm, un-irritated brow tissue on procedure day. That means no brow waxing or tinting in the meantime, and no retinoids, acids, or strong exfoliants for at least 10 to 14 days before your appointment. Here in Orlando, heat and humidity make inflammation flare faster, so timing matters more than people think.

Your first 24 to 48 hours after the consult: lock in the plan

A consult is quick, but the two days after it are where people accidentally sabotage their own results. I want your procedure day to feel easy, not like a scramble.

Quick checklist (do this first): Confirm your procedure appointment window, schedule any required patch test if I recommend one, and put a stop-date in your calendar for exfoliants and retinoids (10 to 14 days before your procedure).

What I want you to avoid right now

  • No brow waxing, threading, tint, henna, or lamination between the consult and your procedure. I map your brows based on your natural growth and shape, and I don’t want the area irritated.
  • Don’t start new active skincare around your brows. If you wouldn’t put it on a sunburn, don’t put it on your brow area right now.
  • Skip intense sun exposure and heavy sweating right before your scheduled session. Orlando humidity turns “a little sweat” into a lot of sweat fast.

If you take medication or have a health change

Let me know if anything changes between your consult and your appointment, including pregnancy, recent Botox around the forehead/brow area, Accutane history, or anything that affects healing. If you’re on blood-thinning medications, don’t stop anything on your own. Talk with your doctor first, then tell me what they advise so I can schedule you safely.

The first week before your nanoblading appointment: keep your brow skin calm

If you’ve ever had a wax and felt “a little tender” after, you already get it. Calm skin behaves better. And better-behaved skin usually means cleaner work and a smoother heal.

Stick with boring skincare on the brow area

In the week leading up, keep it simple around the eyebrows. Gentle cleanse, light moisturizer if you need it, and that’s it. If your skin gets dry, don’t “scrub it off.” Flaking and irritation are common when people over-correct.

Sun and sweat are the sneaky troublemakers in Orlando

I’m not asking you to stop living your life, but I do want you to be smart with timing. If you know you’re going to have a long day outdoors, try not to schedule your nanoblading session right after. Heat, tanning, and heavy sweat can leave the brow area sensitized. Saunas and steam rooms can do the same. Give yourself 24 to 48 hours of calm on both sides of your procedure when possible.

Products to pause 10 to 14 days before nanoblading (and what’s usually fine)

This is the part busy people love, because it’s clear. If a product speeds up cell turnover or exfoliates, it can make the brow area more sensitive. That’s not what we want on procedure day.

Pause these near your eyebrows

Retinoids/retinol, glycolic/lactic/salicylic acids, peels, scrubs, and anything that makes you peel or sting. If you use actives on your face, keep them away from the brow zone.

Usually fine

Gentle cleanser, basic moisturizer, and sunscreen applied carefully (not rubbed aggressively into the brow area). If you’re unsure about one item, send me the name and where you apply it.

And yes, I know you might be searching “waxing near me” or “tint near me” right now because you want your eyebrows to look neat while you wait. Hold off. The clean-up and shaping we do for a brow bar visit is different than prepping for permanent makeup, and I’d rather you come in with natural growth so I can map accurately.

Day-of prep for your nanoblading session: clean brows, calm body

Once we’ve got your appointment scheduled, prep is simple. Show up with clean, makeup-free brows. Skip heavy workouts right before your visit, and avoid sauna or steam for 24 to 48 hours around your session if you can. When skin is flushed or sweaty, it’s harder to keep the area calm.

If you commute along SR 408 or you’re juggling shift work, I get it. I work with a lot of Curry Ford and Azalea Park clients who want clear timing so they don’t lose their slot. If you’re coming from Conway, Belle Isle, Union Park, or Pine Castle, build in a few extra minutes so you’re not rushing in stressed. Calm shows up on your face.

Pricing note: People ask me about nano brows cost during consults all the time. Your consultation is $15, and I’ll go over your options and timing so you’re not guessing before you commit.

If you’re deciding between options, I also recommend reading our consultation services guide for Curry Ford and Azalea Park. It answers a lot of the “what are we actually doing in the consult?” questions.

When to reach out to me (and how I keep you comfortable)

If you’re unsure about a product, a medication, or a brow service you were about to book somewhere else, just ask me first. I’d rather answer a quick question than have you show up with irritated skin and need to reschedule.

“It’s always nerve-racking going to a new place and trusting them with your eyebrows but I am SO glad that I did.”

one of our regulars

That’s exactly the energy I want you to feel walking in. I take time on mapping, I talk things through, and I make sure you’re happy before I move forward. People come to me for brows, and they stay with me for the communication. It’s also why so many of my long-time clients come back for nanoblade touch-ups and refer friends.

One more thing: If you’re doing other services around the same time, tell me. Lash extensions, a lash lift and tint, teeth whitening, waxing, piercing, and even things like large tattoo removal can all affect how you schedule self-care. I’ll help you space things out so your brow appointment stays the priority.

Ready to set your procedure date? Here’s the timing question I’ll ask you

Before I lock in your appointment, I’m going to ask what your next two weeks look like. Not because I’m nosy. Because the best results come when you can actually follow the prep. If you have beach plans, intense workouts, or anything that keeps you in the sun, I’ll help you pick a date that doesn’t fight your schedule.

If you want me to double-check your product list or your timing, reach out and I’ll guide you. I’m in Orlando, and I see a lot of clients coming in from Azalea Park, Conway, Belle Isle, Union Park, and Pine Castle who just want straight answers and a plan they can stick to.
