Answers to typical concerns about safety, timing, and aftercare for whitening treatments.
Duration depends on diet, oral hygiene, and habits like smoking. Most clients enjoy noticeably whiter teeth for six months to two years. With good care and periodic touch-ups—every 6–12 months—results can be maintained longer.
Yes. We assess sensitivity before treatment and adjust intensity or use desensitizing agents. Many clients tolerate laser whitening well; for high sensitivity we recommend shorter sessions, topical fluoride, or postponement until sensitivity is managed to ensure comfort and safety.
Avoid dark, staining foods and drinks for the first 24–48 hours to protect results—this includes coffee, red wine, berries, and soy sauce. Use a straw for colored beverages and maintain good oral hygiene to prolong whitening effects.
Many clients see visible improvement after a single session—especially 40 or 60-minute treatments. Stubborn or intrinsic discoloration may require multiple sessions or combination treatments. We'll recommend the optimal plan during your consultation based on stain type and sensitivity.
Yes. Whitening isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for children under 16, or when active tooth decay or gum disease exist. Also, crowns, veneers, and fillings won't change color. We'll screen medical history and oral health before proceeding.
Whitening only lightens natural tooth enamel and won't change the color of crowns, veneers, or fillings. If restorations become mismatched after treatment, we can coordinate with your dentist to replace or adjust them for a seamless, uniform color.
